Sorry if this is not the best place for this question. So a CC creator I like uses a custom body shape for her clothing and (I really want to stress this part)for my own use, I would like to convert the clothing to use the EA base body shape for consistency with sliders and stuff (if that makes sense). I am a complete newbie to meshing (I messed around a little with Sims 3 stuff but never got anywhere) so my only idea of how to "fix" this body shape issue is to manually adjust the mesh vertex by vertex on the 3D view (again I hope that makes sense). I was wondering if this UV_1 mesh tutorial would be a better solution?
Again I went to stress that I do not want to upload the edited meshes for public use, I just want them for my own use. I want to do it myself 1) as a learning experience and 2)I don't want to bug the creator with requests for something so little and because of a personal preference. And I understand if nobody wants to help me because it concerns modifying someone else's work. Please don't be a jerk about it, telling me to basically f off in a civil way will be suitable

Hi, essielarueWhat you need to do is just delete the body, replace it with the default one, reshape it to fit the new body. Most likely you will not need to modify uv_1, weights, vertex paint. What you need should be explained in the "clothing conversion to the sims 4" type of tutorials, where authors bring clothing from other games to ts4. Same idea, basically

I did some poking around a few sims 3 meshes but not much more. So I don't always know the purpose of things. I also can be a bit slow and sometimes need things to be explained to me like I'm 5 or need someone to walk me through a process step by step. I understand there are probably tutorials out there and if you have any tutorials you would recommend, even from like Sim2 that might be helpful for getting familiar with working with 3D meshing, I would very much appreciate it, if you don't mind sharing.

The sims 3 does not have uv_1, this is a ts4 specific concept. Uv_1 controls how the mesh morphs. You do not need to understand how exactly this happens. We simply retransfer it from maxis items.
As for how to understand when you need to change it. For example, on the original mesh the sleeve ends at the elbow. If it will be the same after you reshape it, you do not need to re-do anything. If you will make the sleeve longer or shorter, then uv_1 and weights would need to be redone. Since there is no significant difference between the default ea body and this author’s custom one in terms of body proportions, you most likely will not need to re-do anything besides the shape.
the tutorial I came across in past were not particularly informative, so I don’t have anything specific to give
