Hi guys, I am new to creating sims 4 meshes and I use S4S for Mac. I followed this tutorial but after I complete the data transfer in Blender, the texture I made in Marvelous Designer disappears. I read other posts advising to make sure the meshgroups have the same number of uv maps with the same names when joining them together to prevent texture loss. Does this rule also apply to data transfer? I named my uv maps "uv_0" and "uv1". I'm not sure what else I need to change to prevent the texture from going away. I also see an answer on this post (similar to my question) that got 9 upvotes, but I'm not sure what they mean by 'Create a UV map'. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi. There is no point in creating textures in MD and exporting them.
How textures are displayed depends on uvs. When you change how uvs are laid out, existing textures stop being projected correctly. Your uv_0 must differ from the original to not conflict with other CAS items. You must shrink and re-arrange them to fit CAS template, so they will not be aligned with pre-existing textures. Your uv_1 is not responsible for texture projection at all, serves a different purpose in-game,it does not matter how textures are displayed with it selected.
Anyway, just ignore this and continue with a tutorial. In the future, do not make textures in MD
also, for the future, unless your question is general (« what are uvs? », for example), it is best to not look for answers on blender specific forums. Some things in ts4 don’t work like they do in Blender, so it may confuse you further rather than help

Thanks! I figured it would be easier to just make the texture in Blender going forward. I appreciate you for confirming.
