It also looks like you need a scalp texture. Here's an example.
You can easily view how the textures looks in Blender and you can edit the UV islands and see how the texture looks in real time. First, enable sync in the UV editor and make sure you're in face select mode. Now you can see your UV islands without having to select your mesh.
Make sure you're in material viewport shading.
Here are instructions for Blender 3.3:
In Blender 2.7x, remove whatever texture is in the UV editor, press A to select all islands, then Image > Open Image and navigate to your texture and open it.
Press N to open the side tab and under shading change it to "multitexture." Make sure you're in texture viewport shading. Now, you should be able to see your texture on your mesh and you can see how it changes if you move or resize your islands. Ignore the left side of this screenshot.
