Hello! I'm pretty new to meshing, and really only make things for myself. I thought this one would be easy but it's having some weird distortion in CAS. The weird thing is, the only part that's distorting is the part of the mesh I haven't messed with! I'm trying to make a mix of two meshes from different cc creators, so I know the originals themselves work fine in CAS, but for some reason as soon as I add one to the other, the distortion happens. I'm thinking it's a problem with the weights, but again, I'm really confused because the only parts that are being effected are the weights of the part of the original mesh I'm not adjusting - and I know they work beautifully by themselves. I'm at a total loss here and I'd really appreciate some help. I'd also like to make it clear that while I am modifying two cc creator's meshes, I am only making this item for personal use! I'll credit them here also: Simandy and Lijoue! I'm using Simandy's Americano dress and Lijoue's Silk Dress Shirt Outfit. Here's my files and here's some screen shots of what I'm dealing with are in the folder as well.

Hi. Its caused by the difference in vertex paint. Skirts are painted with 3FFF00 while the rest generally has 00FF00. Keep 5 things in mind: When you frankenmesh something, it is best to re-transfer all data in that area to avoid differences You should choose a maxis item of similar length as a reference. Less details it has = better uv_1 transfer Before you transfer any data, you should remove doubles on your garment. The mesh is split in some areas and they might get different data Another thing you should do is separate nude body parts from the garment, you dont want to overwrite their data After that, you'll need to split the mesh again to remove dark shadows - clone a maxis item of similar length, export the blend, open, join all meshgroups into one, rename to Reference; - append your garment in this scene; - select the garment, in edit mode select everything and remove doubles; - hover over each nude body part, press L to select it ( by UVs ), select all of them, press P - Selection to separate, rename to Body; - select the garment, transfer weights and uv_1 exactly like this, apply, then transfer vertex paint; - in edit mode select everything, do Clean with All groups and Limit total; - join it with the body; - delete uv_2 and Col.001; - split edges that have dark shadows along them
