Hi, I've always wondered why so many meshes are separated in parts like this, I don't understand what's the point but I'm sure it has a purpose, somebody knows for what this is? What's the logic behind it and how I can start applying it to the contents I create?

Hi. Meshes are split in multiple parts for three reasons: - for cas items to not conflict with each other. When you put a maxis jacket on a sim, bracelets disappear. When a sim wears maxis boots, pants tuck or cover them. Sweaters with high collar hide necklaces and chokers, etc. Parts from the same region are tuned to interact with each other in a specific way in Region map; - to not exceed the bone limit. If a meshgroup is affected by more than 60 bones, it can be split into two. For example, fullbody outfits with shoes often have fingers separated (because there are many bones there) - to assign a different shader
