Hello All, I'm familiar with Blender and making poses, on windows. However I recently started using Blender on a MacBook and what used to work on windows does not work on Mac. I followed the steps from Katverse video on how to pose with an object (worked fine on windows) however after appending the object (i have tried several items, books, pens, coffee cups and even clothing) The rig moves but the object does not. I go to the wrench and the armature option is already there. Once I set the object to rig, then click on the rig (in pose mode) and move the rig, the object stays. A little bit confused as to why this is happening. Help please

Hi, Yes it is. I am also using blender 2.79 (not sure if that makes any difference) I've checked to make sure the weights are correct and it seems to be as the entire mesh is blue when i go into 'Weight Paint" Not sure if this gives any further insight but I downloaded an old blender file I had from my Windows laptop onto my Mac. In this file I appended an object onto the rig and everything worked perfectly (talking about when I worked on the blender file a few years ago on Windows). I downloaded this file onto my mac earlier today, open it up and everything was in order. The object was perfectly moving along with the rig and I did not have to tamper with anything. This confused me even more. I hope this added information helps.

The name of the bone must be identical to the one that exists in the rig and an object must be actually assigned to it How to do this: - select an object, switch to Edit mode; - create a new group with +; - double-click on it to rename, paste b__R_Stigmata - in 3d view select everything with A, click on Assign; - vertex paint the mesh with black to disable morphing

ah ha! Thank you that seemed to have done the trick for the coffee cup I still need to play about with the vertex group for some clothing items, but for the most part that seemed to have solved the issue. Thank you
