Hi all,
Apologies if this is the wrong forum for this but I wasn’t sure where to put it.
I downloaded a tattoo set from a CC creator, however it only had the tattoos as one single swatch. I worked out how to separate the tattoos into new swatches and added them to the original package file. That all worked fine, all the original tattoos and the new swatches I made show up in game exactly as they are supposed to.
The issue I have is, I want the tattoo package to show up in all the categories (arm, leg etc etc). I tried copying the package file and updating the new versions using S4S into the correct category via my projects tab but that didn’t work. I tried saving it as a new package using S4S but that didn’t work.
I’m literally tearing my hair out because I can’t figure out why I can seemingly only have one version of this tattoo set in my game! I’ve duplicated packages before in order to have them show in multiple places which has always worked fine but for some reason this tattoo set just won’t be duplicated.
I’ve checked the CAS parts in warehouse tab, I’ve checked the layer number and all that stuff but there doesn’t seem to be any reason why it isn’t working. I always delete my cache and thumb files every time I close the game so it’s not that either.
Can anyone help me?

Hi. You need to create a standalone package, not a copy. For this, you need to clone the original package instead of creating a renamed copy. - put the original package into C:\Users\-\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods and C:\Users\-\Documents\Sims 4 Studio\Mods; - restart s4s, if it was opened; - open again, choose Create CAS standalone, click on CAS, filter by Custom; - Shift-click on one swatch to select all, Next, save in Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods; - in Categories change the Category to a different location; - repeat the whole cloning process to add them to other locations

You've just stopped me from losing my mind entirely!!! Is it only tattoos that you can't copy by duplicating the package file in windows explorer and changing the category? It's weird how I've never had that issue before when rearranging my CC categories. You've literally made my entire weekend

No, it’s everything. When you copy and rename a package, its identifier does not change, so the game sees it as a new swatch of the original instead of a standalone item. I suppose in some cases a swatch can be categorised as something else and appear only when certain tags are used. But most likely it cannot belong to a different item category
