IntroductionEA's roof shader often has the specular settings set quite high by default. This can cause your roof recolor to look very bright and overly contrasted in the game. The issue is easily fixed though and this tutorial will show you how. What you will needSims 4 Studio (Sugar) or above Instructions1. Open your roof in Sims 4 Studio and click the Warehouse tab. Click Type to sort the resources by type. 2. Click on the first Material Definition line. There will be one Material Definition for each swatch and you can change each individually. You need to edit the Material Definition for each swatch whose specular you want to tone down. 3. On the right side click the Edit Items button in the Material section. 4. When the Editing Items box pops up showing the Shader Data click on the Specular line on the left. This section contains the specular settings. 5. On the right side there will be 3 values. To turn the specular off change them all to 0. 6. Click the Save button. This will return you to the main resource list. 7. Repeat for each Material Definition line if you want to make this change for all the swatches in your .package. Save the .package and test in the game.

Thank you for this tutorial! However I'm still having problems with my roofs being too bright. I even tried editing the "Shininess" setting to 0 as well and my roofs are still coming up white in mid-day lighting. I've included a screenshot. I'm trying to experiment with the Specular dss files too but I don't know how they work or what I'm doing. I'd appreciate any help!

If you post the file someone can take a look at it.

In order to do this, which one should I click on. Standalone Recolor, Add Swatches, or Override?

Hi all
I made the relevant changes to the specular files under all swatches but roofs are still showing up way too bright.
Any update to this fix or any new suggested changes?
