Hi, I'm trying to semi-clay the lovely Countess hair by Anto, it looks fine in S4S but in CAS it has these darker strands, any suggestion? TIA

Hi. Most likely incorrect uv_1, so you should retransfer it. If won’t help, share the blend and the package please

When I go to the Meshes tab I have the following: LOD 0 LOD 1 LOD 2 LOD 3
Do I export all 4?
Thanks again

If you haven't modified the mesh at all, then it can be a non-existent normal map. Import a blank normal map from here into your package If wont help, share just the package please

The original hair is here, I think it also has the darker strands but it isn't as noticeable because alpha? Thanks!

The original package has a normal map and is shaded correctly. Your package file has a different blend ( less mesgroups - did you delete some of them or is this a bug?), but it is also shaded correctly Do you have laptop mode enabled in ts4 graphics settings? If yes, try disabling it and restarting ts4. Do you have any type of mods that modify shading? ( reshade, no glow, etc)

( reshade, no glow, etc) Hi, I restarted from scratch and created a new recolor, making sure to only import the new diffuse. I don't have laptop mode enabled (I play with the highest graphic settings) and don't have any mods that modify shading, but just to make sure I created a new vanilla game folder to test. Same.
I also imported one of the original swatches to my recolor, to see if there was any difference. They looked exactly the same, and some stands are indeed darker but the effect is more subtle being an alpha hair, which makes me think it's something intentional from the creator to give it more depth or texture? I'll try to see if a can figure something out in Blender, though it's a bit beyond my capacities LOL
Thanks again!

Alpha strands have a different shader assigned to them ( Simglass, same as lenses on glasses), which does look a bit different from the default Simskin. But the difference is not dramatic like this So, because of these slight differences, the author may have made some strands darker, but again, it should not look like this. So I want to clarify two moments: 1. does it still look like this? 2. By this I also imported one of the original swatches to my recolor, to see if there was any difference. They looked exactly the same,
Do you mean it looks the same as in the original package? Or the same as your package ( same problem) Your package looks like this in my game, both on highest and lowest settings

OMG I am so confused, I repaired my game in case I had tampered with the lighting settings at some point, checked with all the possible graphic settings, and I still have those dark strands... idk anymore, all I can think of is that I'm playing on a Mac and it maybe renders the game differently? I don't have the "laptop mode" option, but I did toggle on and off the "retina display" option, still nothing.
I understand what you mean about the shader, I'll look into that. Actually in one of the graphic settings I tested the dark strands were also very shiny, so it makes total sense.
Oh, and what I meant is that I re-imported one of Anto's original swatches to my recolor, just to check if the problem was in my file and to compare it side by side with the original, and they looked the same.
Thanks you so much for your help and your patience!
