I have a perplexing problem I can't seem to find a solution for. One of my custom content hairs has the blonde streaks glitch, but it's only that one CC hair, and only at the distance the LOD1 mesh is used. Another CC hair by the same creator (nearly identical except for an added topnot) doesn't have this issue
I figure there must be something set wrong in the data that I can probably fix myself with Sims 4 Studio, but I'm not sure what to look for.
(Laptop Mode is unchecked, and that would affect all CC hairs not just the one).

Went over the details of the glitching CC hair and found a solution:
I found that the Geometry corresponding to the glitching LOD 1 had Shader set to "SimSkin" while the Geometry corresponding to the non-glitching LOD 0 was set to "Simglass". Set them both to "Simglass" and now the blonde streaks are gone!
I'm perplexed why this was necessary when the similar hair has every geometry set to "Simskin" and never had the blonde streaks issue, but the fix worked all the same. :-/ I was also able to fix a CC dress that had its transparency vanish at a distance via the same method.
With this in mind, I recommend anyone else who has problems with transparency on specific custom content see if changing the Shader settings helps at all.

The default shader, Simskin, does not support transparency. To make alpha hair, one must use the shader for lenses, Simglass. This shader does not work well with layered meshes like hair, so creators use this only on strands that need transparency, which is why some geometries may not have it assigned. In your case, most likely, the person just did not assign simglass to other lods at all
