Hey all! I recently created a custom computer by cloning one of the base game ones, and wanted to add the possibility of slotting custom mousepads to it by adding a small deco slot to it. I thought I didn't need to do anything else, but the slot isn't working in game and I'm wondering if I missed a step or if slots in that type of object won't work.
I tried searching everywhere and couldn't find anyone with a similar problem, only this bit from another thread:

"You can put two items on top of each other, but you can't put a third on top of the second, even if there's an available slot. (...) When you put the tray on the table, the tray becomes item 1 and the table becomes item 2. The slots on the tray are essentially "slot 3" and are therefore counted as "unavailable", meaning the game won't allow you to put anything on them."
