Sorry, you've sent two with a similar name and I opened the wrong one. The issue with this one is that you added the height of the Kinara instead of subtracting it.

I am subtracting it tho??
0.82928 (Candle Wick Height) -0.34278 (Kinara Height) =0.48650
I tried it with 0.48650 and the flames were too high, I then tried it with -0.48650 and the flames were below the table.

Your candle wick top is not .82928. If you're getting a number that large in Blender it may be that you didn't apply your transformation in Blender before getting your z value. It should be about 0.13788. Type that number into your z line and then follow the instructions I gave you above to delete the Kinara height from it. You will end up with this: When getting heights for things keep in mind that countertop height is 1. If counter height is 1 there is no way your candle wick is set at 0.8.

Absolutely you can...and you're right...it's a lot(!) easier. I need to update the tutorial but I posted a pic in the thread above. It's in this post.

Hi! I am trying to resize and recolour the new Day of the Dead candle set that came with the latest patch, down to 60% of the original. I edited all the lods and imported the new meshes, but when I tested the new candles in-game they looked like this: I searched here for a candle flame related tutorial, and found this one, but when I went to look for the FX entry in the rig/slot editor, I saw there was only one. Does that mean I need to add three new separate flames (if yes, how would I go about doing that?) - or is it possible to somehow scale the effect? Thanks in advance UPDATE: I fixed it (with a little help from a friend)! All I had to do was change the scale of the FX in Warehouse > Rig > Bones > _FX > Scale (set to 0.6,0.6,0.6) and voila:

Hi! I'm a big fan of your detailed tutorials and normally everything is fine but this time I got stuck (or i'm too stupid) :D Worked my way trough the tutorial and at No.20 it says "Swap out the original mesh for your mesh"... but how? Is their a special way to do that? I want to replace it with the Day of the Dead Candle, which has now four candles and for this one I need to add a flame. Hope someone can help me out (sorry for my bad english) Thanks for your hard work! Waterwoman

You need to save your item in Blender as a .blend and then import that into Studio. There is a tutorial showing how to replace the EA mesh with yours posted HERE.

Do you have to clone it from the AOM candle? Can you clone it from any candle? Because I can't get the downloaded candle to show up in the list of available objects to clone.

Hi treefriend, the reason the tutorial suggests using the original candle as the clone is because it already has all the effects slots that you'll need to make a 10 wick object so you don't have to add them. There is nothing special about it other than that and you can pick a different item to clone if you want. Also, did you put the AOM candle into your Documents/Sims 4 Studio/Mods folder? Studio cannot see it unless it is in that folder. Just having it in the Sims 4/Mods folder won't allow it to show on the clone list.

I sure did! I even copied it and copied an extra one in there just in case, and I opened my game and placed the object in-game, and it still won't show up.

Hi treefriend, make sure the item is in your Documents/Sims 4 Studio/Mods folder, not just the game folder. Then open Studio (after adding something to the Sims 4 Studio/Mods folder you need to restart Studio for it to show on the clone list), and filter by custom content as shown in the picture below. Then the candles will show up on the list: Again though, if you want to use a different item as your base object, you can.
