Hello orangemittens I love this tutorial! I have a question about your 10 wigs candle. How did you add the additional effect slots/ flames. I would like to create something with more flames but when I try to add another effect then the flames dont show up.

orangemittensIt seems that since Seasons, flames don't disappear when the light is off. Do you know how to fix the tuning ?

Grr! I did not know the patch broke the off switch. I'll take a look at it.

orangemittens I would like to know if you found a solution as well. I've had no luck trying to add multiple effect coding to a newer tuning file as it seams the format has changed and i can't find a reference tuning file to look at for guidance.

thejim07 and peacemaker , we've updated the candle used in the tutorial. The on and off should work now.
There was also a change with the focus, which I think was causing some issues with pets. I have not tested this part extensively, but hopefully, that is fixed as well.
The new tuning is based on one of EA's new candles and includes the interaction "Turn on... All Candles". This will work as well, but only if you include the new tags on your candle. The tags added were: Func_Candle,Func_Light_CandleWithAutoLights,Func_Light_NonElectric.
To update your candle, you can either follow the tutorial again from start to end with the new version of the candle linked, or copy all but the first line of the tuning in the new candle and paste it over all but the first line of the tuning in your package. That should be enough to make it work again, assuming you have not added additional flames that weren't included in the tutorial tuning. And of course, if you want to take advantage of the new candle interaction mentioned above, you will need to add those tags, or clone a candle that already has them.

Thanks Andrew! I did fix the pets focus issue with my candles when the EP came out so i will be sure to double check the new file as well. I just couldn't figure out the multiple effects issue.

Thank you very much ! I added myself the "Turn on… All candles" interaction but was not able to fix the fact that flame stayed after the light was unlit. I'm happy my candle lights will work fine again .

Hi, first, that's a great tutorial! One question, I did everything as described here. In the end, I have also cleared all the flames to 1 because I only need 1 flame. The flame is at the right height, it burns only one flame and everything looks so good. Except for 1 thing ... the candle does not light the room at all. The candle itself is completely in the shade and except the flame itself, everything is dark. www.dropbox.com/s/k5h7b8owv94vmuj/MausiTag%20Candle%20Skeleton.package?dl=0
Did I miss anything to get the light on? EDIT: Got it! I've added a PointLight and now everything workes fine!

peggyb did you get help already? If so nevermind. I'm not usually active and I'm just a beginner too but I think I can help with this. Unfortunately I can't download the package file because the link you shared doesn't work, but I think you just have to open it in sims4studio, go to the Rig/Slots tab and delete the extra effects.

It seems like the Paranormal pack broke something in the code. reloading a lot with CC candles now loads this glow around them where the flame used to be. Placing a new version of the item loads the right effect at first, but if you reload the lot the same problem can be seen.
Edit: Removing the autolight portion seems to help.

I was trying to follow this tutorial but I am stuck at step 3.
I downloaded the AOM_Deco_8Candels package file. I created a Mods folder in the Sims4Studio location and moved the downloaded file to this location. - Had this in the wrong location... I opened the package in S4S and batch exported the tuning file and then went back to the home page When I select to Create a 3D mesh and click Object and type AOM into the search bar, nothing is returned.
I uninstalled S4S, repaired my game via Origin, then reinstalled S4S but I still can't get the AOM candles to show up in the search. What am I doing wrong?
Edit to note that I have found the issue. I had added the Mods folder to the install directory instead of the Documents/S4S location. With the package in the proper location it now shows up in the search.

Hi there!
Thank you so much for the tutorial and the one about vertex painting light objects. I understand the whole principle and could add flames just fine - however my problem is that applying vertex paint to the cloned AOM candles doesn't 'stick'. As in, the light effect doesn't appear in game and the mesh is dark. When I clone another light object however, for example a candle, the vertex paint works fine but I can't edit the rig and fx slots after importing the tuning. Can I just have one of them? I'm not sure what I'm missing.
A shove in the right direction would be much appreciated.
EDIT: Oh man, I figured it out after some soul searching. I feel dumb for not trying to add FX slots. Thanks again for the tutorial!
