I'm like 2 weeks new into creating custom content. I'm learning a lot and I'm happy to learn more but the last 2 weeks working on this ONE project has me wanting to bang my head off a wall. The video link below (its in my google drive) shows you my fireplace I created. (I did the mesh myself) and had help because for some reason I keep making my meshes go backwards? (or inside out?) so faces go missing. Anyway... I got that fixed but now, the darn thing turns pink when lit. WHY? drive.google.com/file/d/1m8Dk8DIfYgLkUAI3pzKBYAt8lojXLZLo/view?usp=drive_linkCan someone help me figure this out. Dumb it down please like you're talking to a 10 year old because like I said... I'm only 2 weeks into learning this and I think I'm doing pretty good but obviously I am missing a few things. I know it has something to do with my light intensity map, but I have NO idea how to create one and upload it to the Sims 4 Studio (I have version STAR)

I believe it has to do with Vertex painting the mesh, Orange Mittens has a tutorial about lights and painting the object a certain way - could be something else, because I'm no expert. Best of luck!

Fireplaces are quite complex objects. First you need to assign which areas of the mesh will light up at what intensity and which areas won't by correctly vertex painting your mesh using the tutorial by Orange Mittens as mentioned above. However fireplaces also have an additional texture (lightmap i think it's called) that once again gives an overlay texture when the fire is on to give the illusion of light. From my personal experience making that texture look good can be quite a process and it will require a lot of trial and error, unless someone can suggest an easy way to do it.
