Custom hair & eyebrows don't always matched when randomized

So, I'm having an odd issue with some CC hair and eyebrow recolors when it comes to the randomizer. Namely, something like 5% of the time, the color of my custom eyebrows won't match the color of the custom hair when I hit the randomize button. This is CC for children and toddlers.

The palette of this CC is a bit unusual - the items are CAS standalones with 7 color swatches, basically recolors of child and toddler base game hair and eyebrows that make the 'dyed' colors randomize on aliens. I've double-checked and everything is tagged appropriately, and 95% of the time when I hit the randomize button the swatches match. But something like 5% of the time I'll get a kid with green hair and hot pink eyebrows, or black hair and purple pastel eyebrows, or something.

I'm not quite sure what's going on here. It seems like this is only a problem for the children/toddler versions - I also have adult versions with a palette of 8 colors set to randomize on aliens and I don't have any issues with that CC.

Any ideas on how I can fix this so things will randomize right?
