Hi,
I know that in some cases it is useful to design bulkier clothing on sims with their arms down but I can't find any available avatars to use within my programs. Am I supposed to download a mesh from S4S and rig the body in Blender?
Thanks!

Hi. You're supposed to make it yourself. The original avatar must be identical in topology to the edited one to morph do it as shown here, except for, before changing the pose, select all body parts you need and export them with Selection only. Then open your md file, delete the avatar, import the new one with arms up, then with arms down as a morph target basically, enable captions and watch from 0:30 to 1:37 first to get an idea, then go back and follow along

To create it myself, I have the Sims 4 Avatar for Marvelous Designer zip that I downloaded from one of the threads posted awhile ago. It is tagged as a avt. file but when I try to bring into Blender, it will not allow me to upload them. Do I have to export the original avatar as a different file type? Thanks!

Clone a lingerie set, export the blend, open, change the pose, export head+body+feet. In MD create a new scene and add this obj as avatar

What should I clone for male avatars? Would that also be a lingerie set or something else? EDIT: Never mind I got it! mauvemorn There are more option off to the side, so when you say to export the body+head+feet am I only selecting from the rig layers or also from the other S4S studio meshes? imgur.com/a/Bm4kzse

A swimsuit From the rig. Make them selectable, then select head, ctrl-select feet, then all parts of the swimsuit

mauvemorn, Hi sorry I may not be understanding the process correctly. Should the current avatar I have in MD be removed and replaced with the saved S4S blend file as an OBJ? For some reason I keep seeing this message: Reference on screenshots when opening OBJ avatar in MD from Blender imgur.com/a/NKyenz3Here is the Blend File: drive.google.com/file/d/1KhavZfE1rWJ0K7fUQBBTfge_RlBgQv0W/view?usp=sharingI have the rig selected and when I go to export I select the 'Selected Only' option as well, so maybe I am doing it wrong at this step and maybe not including everything as I thought?

You need to Ctrl select meshes you want to export. To be able to do this, you need to make body parts under the rig selectable ( cursor icon ). To make this cursor icon visible, click on Filter first

Sorry again to bother mauvemorn! The solution worked, however, now I am seeing this messaging whenever I import the rigged avatars: Error messaging: imgur.com/a/cwKW34R*Sidenote* how are you attaching images within the response? I tried to insert a Image URL link but it would not work haha

If you already have an avatar in the scene, then you need to delete it first, replace with tpose, then import apose as morph target That said, if you have MD 12, there seems to be a bug with importing as Morph target. I wanted to record you a video but, as you'll see in the end, the avatar shrinks instead of changing the pose. The scale units are the same, so it has to be a bug. On its own, the avatar imports just fine. Hopefully, you have a different version. If not, just delete your existing avatar, File - Add - Avatar apose.obj, and remake your garment to fit the pose manually
To add an image, rmb-click on it and choose something like Copy image link, then click on Insert image and paste it

Fitting suit is used during sewing and only if you want to, it is not related to exporting
