I'm trying to convert a mesh from another game to TS4, which I've only done once before. I'm following this tutorial if it matters. When I imported it into Blender it was pink instead of having its original texture, which I kind of ignored even though in the tutorial I'm using that doesn't happen. I thought it would be fine once I got to mapping the UV to the Sims layout, but that doesn't seem to have done anything. It's still solid pink. Not sure where I've gone wrong here. Here is the Blend file.Edit: There are a bunch of tutorials on YouTube that show how to fix this exact problem, but Blender in those tutorials looks completely different and has buttons and tabs that either don't exist in 2.79 or don't exist in the Mac version.

I think I may have figured it out? I'll try to explain in case anyone else has this issue (and also if I'm wrong about figuring it out). I went to the mesh I'm cloning to see what that looks like in the Materials tab. It only has one texture listed, the DiffuseMap. (a) The mesh I'm important looks nothing like that (I think that the game this mesh is from must have multiple UV maps. The Sims 4 only has one). (b)I added another material to the list, and selected DiffuseMap for it. Then I went and subtracted/deleted the other materials so it only had DiffuseMap. (c) I went to the Texture tab and selected the blank option between the DiffuseMaps. I hit 'new' which adds a whole bunch of menus, and then I scrolled down to the 'Image' menu. (e) I hit 'open' and then navigated to the texture layer I wanted the mesh to have. Then I scrolled back up to the top of the Texture tab and unchecked the DiffuseMaps, leaving only the correct texture layer checked. (d)I don't know if this is the "correct" way to do this or if it will cause any errors later down the line, so I would really love some feedback if anyone knows about converting meshes from other games.

Hot pink material means "missing texture". You can just plug it manually into the material
