Sul Sul Simmers,
Maybe you face a similar issue as I did. Hope this will help you as you can maybe imagine I was quite frustrated, again, LOL.
I have had several times issues with the S4Studio installation with the Star Version in the past. Made yesterday a PC upgrade and brandnew Software Setup.
Sadly, I was now dealing with an old issue again. I had no Antivirus Software installed so far.
However, suprisingly I still got an info that S4S cannot access log files and that this is caused most likley by an antivirus software. How? I had no antivirus software installed!
It was driving me insane , and took me 30 minutes until I figured out how to solve this issue:
Finally, it works smooth.

I highly suggest that you admin-guys, maybe andrew ? Add such info on the S4Studio installation - latest version - page:
When using the Installer? Install S4Studio Star with admin rights.
Maybe move this post to the thread with the Virus-Issue? So that simmers have an alternative option to try to solve their issue when this message pops up in S4Studio? I had no clue where to post this.
It would avoid the issue from the very beginning. I assume you can have the virus software already on your pc but the key factor is to install the S4Studio with admin-rights.
As in this case it doesn't show me any more this issue with log files or any other error. Plus I don't need add it to Avast, but Avast recognizes the App and will ask you to add it to secured apps instead.
This info might help someone who has the same issue as I did.

- removed S4Studio again
- turned off the Microsoft in-built protection for apps, as well as all security settings by Microsoft - still had the same message.
- cleaned up registry regarding potential leftovers (In case you aren't familiar with how to remove registry entries, use simply a cleaning tool e.g. cc cleaner. Or you will need advanced knowlege about registy, but I think this wasn't necessary in this case)
- tried to install it with admin rights
- installed Avast after S4S Studio
- opened Avast and minimized it.
- Now I tried to open S4S Studio.
- Avast told me instantly 'We just protected your file'. I clicked on 'Allow App' and tada the isuse is gone for good.
Finally, it works smooth.

- Step: Image 1+2 = S4S is installed without admin rights. The first two images visualize the issue I had. Avast was being either not installed or deactivated. I tried both, and decided to remove Avast temporary.
- Step: Image 3+4 S4S is now installed with admin rights. (you need the install version, click right on S4SStudio setup and confirm "run as adminstrator". (Of course, you will need admin rights for that)
- Step: Install Avast and open it. Open S4Studio next: Message "We've protect your file" pops up.
- Step: Allow Avast S4S to get access to 'my protected documents' and the message/last pic "App allowed" should pop up.
