Hi. The unit game assets are made is a tri(angle) and the polycount is counted in it. Quadrangulating does not change the final number, since a mesh will be triangulated back upon import no matter what. Merging by distance changes vertex count, not polycount, but it can remove splits in random areas ( i dont see any on your screenshots, so it is up to you ). Since you're making it for personal use, you dont have to worry about the polycount, so long it is not game crashingly high. - In the Warehouse tab, select the first Model LOD; - In Data tab click on Edit items; - choose Phong; - in the search bar type in "index", disable Index32; - save the change, repeat for all other Model LODs.

Hi, thank you for your reply. I have done your suggestion and can see still see the same thing when testing in game. Maybe using the word "shadow" was the wrong terms, I guess its kind of a liney texture, but only in outdoor sunlight: You can see in the picture that the left side in the sunlight has an odd texture compared to the right side (Please ignore the eyelashes I know they are bad!)

I'm having the same issue with all of my recolored deco sims as shown here in my picture (original deco sim mesh created by Reigningsims) Issues exists in the original mesh I can confirm that unticking "index32" doesn't change anything.
I had a shadow casting issue on the arm with all saluting Sims posted here in March which luckly I was able to fix by myself recreating all my deco sims by using a different plant mesh as a reference, but the crumpled paper looking cracks remain. I have a few other deco sims created by xldkx without those issues.

mauvemorn - In my case this Deco Sim has 10262 verticles and 13897 polygons. I messed around a bit more for further tests. This time I used a book mesh called sculptTableMISBooks. Imported the deco sims mesh lods and its textures and set SSAO to 0 just to be on the safe side, and it seams that with this book mesh I was able to fix the crumpled paper cracks on the Sim standing left in the picture, but now he casts no shadow lol.
I guess the book mesh that I used has no casting shadow since it is actually a book laying flat on a table.
Never mind, I fixed the non casting shadow by deleting the 3 shadow lods and removed the 3 shadow entries in the model

Hi, are you saying the issue is the plant mesh I used originally and if I change that it should fix it? Thanks

check what this author cloned in these cases I already have now. The mesh "plantPotTableSC" was used but the cracks remained. Reigningsims used "sculptFloorTUDArmor" mesh, but this one is bad. So I re-created ALL my recolors new with a different mesh at first with "plantPotFloorSC". With this one I was able to fix the black line shadows casting inside the saluting arm, as posted in my other thread. But those cracks remained. And today when I read that simsberrie has the same cracks issue, I gave it another try and this time I used the book mesh sculptTableMISBooks used by MelonSloth for her/his bodygard Sims. This book mesh fixed the cracks! Hope that my found fix helps the OP.

Yes that is what I'm saying The book mesh will fix the crumpled paper cracks on the deco sim, atleast in my case it did as showing in my last picture. The book mesh is called - sculptTableMISBooks - open Studio and type sculptTableMISBooks in the search bar. I had to delete the 3 shadow lods though because my sim would not cast a shadow. If that will be the same case for you after you're done, you will have to do so, too.
Post back if you need help with it
ETA: found another mesh that will also fix the crumpled paper cracks. sculptFloorRWCareerBalletStatue - if you want o use it, you have to make it Buyable
