Hi, I'm not sure if you are recoloring one of the gradient versions or the solid. For the gradient background you should edit both diffuse textures and make sure to save with transparency intact for the second small texture. For the solid versions you should just need to edit both diffuses and save without transparency. No changes should be made to the normal.
If this doesn't help, feel free to share your package and I will take a look at it.

hello sorry, i should've clarified. i'm trying to recolour the solid one, and seem to still be running into the white square problem. how do you mean "save without transparency"? is this an option in s4s or do you mean in photoshop? if you mean in photoshop, the problem is still happening. if you mean in s4s, then i'm missing a setting that's probably right in front of me haha.
thank you for the help thus far!

I'm sorry, I should have tested before replying - I'm having the same problem. It seems like the only solid color you can use without the lighter square showing is white. The other solid colors of Luumia's mod lack the second diffuse texture, which eliminates the square but unfortunately also removes the Sim shadow.
By "save without transparency" I just meant it shouldn't have any alpha in Photoshop, but that didn't help anyway.
