Non Default CC Eyes Turn Fully Black in Game?

So I'm working on some CC eyes and I want to make them into non-defaults, but every time I try to make eyes into non-defaults, the first swatch appears all black in game? It's hard to explain, but I attached some pictures. This only happens with the first swatch, but it for some reason adds weird texture to hair and accessories as well. The specular and shadow maps are completely normal, and I just can't find anything that should cause this. The eyes look completely normal in sims4studio, they only look like that in-game. This is the second pair of eyes I've had this issue with another set of eyes too in the past, a completely different, unrelated cc.
