Hi. By default, everything in-game is shaded as smooth, which creates dark shadows along sharp edges. To make the game shade them as sharp, one must split them.
Since CAS items are often split into meshgroups in random places, their borders arent shaded as sharp, so there is no noticeable seam where body parts connect.
This does not seem to be the case for objects
Hi,
andrew Remember there was an issue of a seam on the cow's neck where one meshgroup met the other?Was that a bug or how it is meant to be? If a bug, is it fixed?
Anyway, you can remove inner seams on the body by merging them. Cant do this with the seam between two meshgroups, but you can put it where it makes sense for it to be:
- select the body, in edit mode select everything and Mesh - Merge - By distance;
- with everything still selected, Face - Tris to quads, enable Compare uvs;
- take a knife tool and cut along the borders of the top's texture. Once you create new edges, Edge - Mark as sharp;
- once you have an edge loop marked as sharp, you hover inside of it, press L, then switch to Sharp;
- Mesh - Separate - Selection;
- join with the head. It is affected by 41 bone, while the cleavage has only 8, so the limit is not exceeded.
To fix this issue along the hairline, you need to first delete the area of the scalp covered by the hair, then merge by distance
