Hi noob here, just doing basic editing, d/l a fabulous but VERY NSFW dress, by Mably called Madre. I wanted to add opaqueness over genitals/breasts to make it SFW. However in studio transparency isnt rendered so its a faff to figure out where im working. Is there someway to make it always show transparency? Some clothing does.

hmm? StudioModelSkins.package from the opening post? that has ZERO effect for me in studio, just straight up doesnt work. I'm using one of brujahs skins from further on in the thread.
It still didnt really work for me, it changed the "transparent colour" from grey to orangey/skin. But still isnt transparent :( ANy other advise for this doofus please?
EDIT - the transparent areas (of the dress) are just displaying whatever is mapped to the same place as them. SO the dresses diffuse is mapped to the bottom right. If i then paint the bottom right of my skin diffuse (normally empty space ) bright pink, and then load up the dress package, the tranparent area will be bright pink. If i just cut the colour out completely and have a blank png or dds, then the tranparent area just loooks like the studio background colour.
I just want to see the actual body underneath.

As far as I remember, that has always been that way. The same thing happens to object cc like glasses who have, for expamle, liquid in it. You never really see it in studio actually, only in game or later on the generated thumbnail. That has bothered me too. That's only an expample. It happens with lots of content that has "transparency" in it. Sheer Curtains too and cupboards with glass fronts etc.

I just want to see the actual body underneath. You need to replace the skin in the package with the one that contains no background. Open any custom skin overlay, export the image, import into this package, put it into Documents/Sims 4 Studio/Mods, restart s4s. This, however, will not be the same transparency as in-game, it will just have no opaque background from the skin texture, so you will not see the body underneath.
