Hello! I have a set of eyes that I ported and I can not get them to have any shine effects in game. Amusingly, I made these along side a bunch of other eyes and roughly half have functional shine and the other half don't. This was quite a few versions ago of TS4Studio when this error happened, I am just now trying to solve it.
So I am trying to fix it but nothing appears "wrong" with the specular. However under the warehouse tab one anomaly stuck out to me which seemed to be the same across all the eyes that don't work for me.
Each "CAS Part" in the Data menu had these settings on "Specular Map"
Group: 00000000 Instance: 0000000000000000 Type: 00000000
These settings seem consistent with all my eyes that are lacking proper specular in game despite the specular image itself being fine. However, as this has been this way for a while I want to know what are the repercussions and correct approach to fixing this problem?
I cant find information on what Group, Instance, Type truly mean and it has be a bit dumbfounded on how to correct this problem without accidently breaking something in the process.

Hi. Can you share one example of such file? Was the package started from something that did not have specular?

Hi. Can you share one example of such file? Was the package started from something that did not have specular? There are only two packages, as for what they were made from, they were entirely new projects in TS4Studio created from another users assets (e.g. texture) but the package itself was brand new and unrelated. We transfer download: we.tl/t-WUmKiiWadBThat download includes both packages, they are eye colours (genetic) and both suffer from the same issue. Seemingly the specular texture is fine but in game they do not shine at all. They were made for personal use, but I just can't for the life of me fix them. If you'd rather I share the packages on another platform I can do that.

Neither of these packages contain specular maps, they are not in the warehouse.
If you made it by cloning an existing package, it must be present in C:\Users\----\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods for the game to locate its resources. Alternatively, you can import speculars in these package or embed them ( Tools - Modding - Embed externally referenced resources )

As far as I know, nothing should be be required, these were made fresh off the base game eyes so they shouldn't be dependent on any other CC?
Are you saying if I "import specular" again it should work and shine properly?
EDIT: Importing speculars again did nothing. I understand the embed thing you're suggesting, I just don't quite understand what I am embedding? The specular should've been default.
EDIT2: First test I might have actually made a mistake and jeopardised the test. Imported new specs and did the embed, the eyes have shine now seemingly!! I am very pleased! If I might ask, was the problem that the eyes were dependent on another file or purely that the specular itself was oddly absent?

If it was started from a base game item, then yes, it should not require anything. The original item does have a specular map, perhaps you accidentally deleted or replaced it somehow?
