Hello! I'm working on converting a backpack accessory but when I test it in S4S or in game the sides? are invisible. Not even the texture sticks. It looks OK in Blender. (Ignore my bad attempt at the textures for now LOL.)
I attempted to transfer weights from a necklace to the backpack... I don't know if that could have messed something up.

Please share the package file. I tried to open your model, but apparently it is made on a new version of blender and the interface is displayed incorrectly.

So.. it's very easy: you just need to flip the normals. You can do this by pressing alt+n, then flip. Select the entire object in edit mode before doing this. To understand in the future whether the normals are turned in the right direction, you can use the Backface Culling checkbox in the material settings.

Thank you so much, it worked! Thanks for the tip too! Obviously I use a newer version of Blender so I had to poke around some menus to find that checkbox. I'll keep this in mind for the future.

Hi. Your item is flipped on the Y axis, so all of its normals are flipped as well. You'd need to flip them back, but in this case do things differently: - open the blend, select the backpack, Object - Apply - All transforms to delta; - File - Export - Wavefront ( obj ); - in s4s clone a ring, export the blend, open, delete s4studio_mesh_1; - File - Import - your backpack; - you should reshape the straps to be closer to the torso - switch to edit mode, with +, create two new vertex groups. Name them b__Spine1__ and b__Spine2__; - change Weight to 0.5, select everything with A, select b__Spine1__, click on Assign, select b__Spine2__, click on Assign; - create a new color attribute, name and set up it like this; - give it cut 0 and import back into the ring package, recategorise if needed

You know what... I know exactly how I ended up flipping thing... oops 😅
Thank you for a more in-depth answer! You're right about the straps. I was thinking of something completely different and thought the straps would be better bigger.
I also have another question I hope is ok to ask here: I'm having trouble with texturing. What I did last time was place the UVs in the necklace part of the template and then export the UV layout and added the textures in Photoshop. But the UVs for this backpack are larger and when I resize them smaller then the texture ends up smaller and compressed. I'm not sure where I go about fixing that? If I even can?

The only way is to sacrifice something with a bigger space, so either glasses or hats. If you go the baby carrier path, the item will have no textures in CAS, only in live mode.
