I made this dress but I have a couple issue's I can't figure out. Here is my blendFirst is the line on the left side of this hip. It's behaving like there is a sliver of missing geometry but in blender that are is definitively connected. I even merged the vertices and still have the issue. Second is the jagged shine on the edge of the dress. Is there a way to smooth that out.

Hi. You need to split sharp edges. This is how your mesh is shaded without textures and it wont magically go away on its own Because of reshade, it is unclear what is wrong in waist area. I assume the mesh is split there because uvs dont match. Select them and W - Weld

mauvemorn I tried welding but made no difference. Turning off my gshade preset still shows a sliver of no geometry. I can look from that side and see her opposite arm through the waist.

Here is my newest version. I tried cutting out that mid section and appending a mesh from another skirt to replace it. Welded the uv on top and bottom, merged the vertices on the waist and fixed the edges. Alas that middle geometry is still there. Blend & package

mauvemorn I've just realized its because I'm using a custom body preset. Anything I can do to still fix it using a preset? I making this dress specifically for this sim in a collection im going to release and I really want to keep this body shape. I've messed around with the sliders to see if i could slightly tweak the body but it keeps that line. This doesn't happen with any other clothing on her. It also doesn't happen with either of the meshes I merged together to make this one.

Are you sure this is an updated file? Nothing is done See how these uvs dont match? You mesh is cut in this area because of this. The same happens in uv_1. You need to weld each of them Switch shading to Solid before splitting the mesh

mauvemorn oh yeah that's not he updated file, sorry. But I did find out the preset is what's messing with it. I did do the welding though and the line is still there. Is there anything I can do to combat that?

Preset is messing with it because the mesh does not morph as it should. For this to happen right, there should be no tears in uv_1 in this area. Editing weights does nothing good in this case because they are not causing the problem. You need to weld these uvs on both maps.

mauvemorn ok I welded the uv_0 and all of those points except for 2 places on uv_1. These two spots because they are on opposite ends of the uv. Is it ok to weld those? I tested in game and the line goes away at most of the sports but still exists at those two points.

- select everything with A; - disable sync; - change Sticky selection to Shared location; - weld them - one more thing you can do is switch to vertex paint, Paint - Smooth vertex color (8 in the screenshot )
