Hi.
I have a question. Is it possible to brighten objects by editing the Data in Sims 4 Studio? I know there are mods like lotharihoe's Brighter Walls/Foundations, and NSW's (northern siberia winds) Better In Game Lighting that brighten Sims and indoor lighting. So I thought it should be possible to brighten objects. Specifically white objects with Counter Shader.
I use the Counter Shader on my CC that I create, because I like for all the white objects to match. But the shader tends to make the objects darker. Even with white texture diffuse map. So my question is: Is it possible to brighten objects with a Counter Shader? (Similar to how lotharihoe and NSW brighten walls, foundation, indoor lighting and Sims.)
I would like to create a mod that does this, but not sure what I should edit. I have used things like ReShade to brighten the objects but that also brightens the rest of the game. And of course I can add lights but again I just want to brighten the object itself.
I really hope someone can answer my question. Thank you!

This might not be what you would like, but have you tried using Reshade? www.thegamer.com/the-sims-4-how-to-install-reshade/I personally don't use it, so I can't give any advice, but I do know it's very popular with simmers I see on tumblr, and it may be easier than what you're trying to do. Unless you already use it, in which case, I apologize. (I have zero idea about your actual question, sorry.)

Hi shkatzchen ! Thank you so much for replying. Yeah, I use ReShade, and I have targeted the whites by using Selective Color, but it doesn't really give me the results I want.

Hi guys!
I've been looking into the Game File Cruiser in S4S. I'm looking at the Sim Data. I don't know what I am doing but I think I am headed in the right direction. XD lol

So I found the Counter Shader ID and thought I try to find it in the Game File Cruiser, but I didn't see anything with that ID. I'm still trying to figure out how to brighten objects with Counter Shader. I think it has to be possible. I tried to contact the creators of the lighting mods the brightens walls and foundation and also Sims, but they are unable to help me at the moment. :(

Hi menaceman44I was wondering if you could help me. I noticed your comment on this thread. You say: Would you happen to know how to make the counter shader brighter? I mean the objects that use the shader? Thank you! I hope you don't mind me asking.

As far as I'm aware, we're not able to edit object shaders as they are hard coded. The mods you mention work by altering lighting files instead.
