i have already downloaded blender, but the studio cant seem to locate it and keeps telling me to download it despite that i already have it. any suggestions?

What is the exact message ? Do you have the 2.70 version of Blender ?

i just downloaded the latest version today, same for the sims studio
the message says that it can't locate blender
its fully installed and working though

You mustn't have the last version of blender, Sims4studio need the 2.70 version. So check your version and if it's not the 2.70 install it.
If it still don't work copy the message or make a capture and post it

If you have downloaded the zip version of Blender, you have to go into your S4S settings and choose the correct path.

I am new to these parts, but I am having the same trouble. Yet, when I install blender 2.7a from the download it gave me it gives me an error on startup. I think it is kind of strange Sims Studio 4 only uses Blender 2.7 and not the latest version. The Steam version runs fine on my computer no problem. Just can't get Blender to work.

try this click on you st4 setting (lockated)
go the to C:\Program\Blender Foundation (click on blender) and voilà!
don't go to C:\Program Files (x86) (no!no!no!)
