Hello again dear community,
I am a newbie at Blender, just figured out how to scale meshes, I am trying to scale the "Slablet" to make a thinner and wider /larger version of the Slablet into a iPad2.
I exported the mesh, selected all the Slablet meshes and scaled-it as desire.
Re-imported it sucessfully, then when I test it, my Sims won't take it from the table but the aniumation plays, with the Slablet remaining on the table and my Sims acting as if he had it in his hands.
So I must be missing something crucial, while I have little knowledge of Blender, it is hard for me to investigate.
I will keep on browsing the forum in case I missed a solution.

Hi ironleo78 , Being able to have a Sim pick up any object would be fantastic. Since you just replaced an existing object it seems like it should just work. The only movement of custom objects I've seen working are things like earrings which are attached to a slot. Maybe handheld objects have some sort of slot characteristic as well. As you probably have already done I tried to search the internet for examples and found nothing yet.

I think I am wrong after all, just tested my first Ppad mod ( which was working fine) and it does the same now. I will investigate this, pretty sure the problem is local now, or 18 inch from the screen. ( I am looking at you ironleo78.)

Yeah, just tested it, and even the Slablet is bugged, I will get a fresh Sims 4 install and test without any mod. Definately on my side.

I confirm it, after re-installing and cleaning my mods folder, it all works, most probably an old mod I had installed which conflicted with it. Thanks, your post made me ask myself about this possibility All my fault after all! I lived and learned, again. -- The thread seems to be closed so I will answer you here, don't know if it's worth a Tutorial as I have less than an hour of experience in Blender, and what I did was, with the little I know about Sims 4 3d mesh. I wanted a thinner slimmer Slablet for a ipad Pro results here: sims4studio.com/thread/4378/ironleo78s-emporium?page=7&scrollTo=42535I decided it would probably be the easiest way: to use the actual Slablet, and only Re-Scale it's XYZ to fit what I needed. So I created a new object, exported it's High LOD Mesh, then imported it in Blender. Then I kept Shift pressed and selected with right click every mesh parts I needed Scaled together. The I clicked the SCALE button/tool twice and input manually the values I wanted: These values gave me more width and height for the Screen while the Z got the mesh thinner. I then simply saved it to a .blend file and re-imported it as a "new Mesh" for the Slablet. ( same for the other low lod mesh ) I did not think it was worth a tutorial, but if it could be used for other items and it's worth it, I can make one.

Hi ironleo78 excellent news! Glad that you found the problem! I'm still not familiar with how the process works. Would you be willing to describe the steps for replacing an object that a Sim can pick up with a custom one? If the list of steps already exists somewhere, I would (and others likely also will) be grateful if you shared that info. In particular I'm curious to know if custom animation can be used with handheld objects.
