Hello fellow Creators, I am looking for a disc shaped mesh to do a proper version of the Voyager Golden Disc and hang it on my wall I thought about this idea: Why not use one of the round Rug and modify it to hang on the wall, I have been looking for a tutorial to do just that. Any help finding a solution would be appreciated !

There's a TUTORIAL on how to make a sticker in a wall at the index, the problem is that it wouldn't have any volume. The other way to go is create a circular mesh that acts like a painting. I can help you with the mesh If you want and then you can import it and create the texture and recolor like THISLet me know

Mmmm i dont really understand what you need help with? Just go to blender and create a disk shape mesh, it should take you about 2-3 mins to do so. so where is the problem?

Hi ironleo78, if you wanted to use a round rug as a wall hanging you are probably best off to export the mesh from the rug and use it to replace the mesh of a painting. Then it would be a fairly straightforward matter of rotating the mesh in blender so that it was going in the right direction and then scaling it to the size that you wanted. If you want to try that here are the steps I would take: 1. clone the rug and export the mesh 2. clone a painting and export the mesh 3. open the painting .blend in Blender 4. append the rug mesh to the painting.blend while in Object Mode: Click File/Append Navigate to the rug.blend and select it. Then open the Object folder Select the rug mesh group. Since rug LODs don't have a shadow mesh group this should be mesh group 0 5. Once you've done that delete the mesh group that represents the painting (this should be mesh group 1) and change the cut number of the rug mesh so that it matches the painting's cut number (should be changed to 1). 6. Rotate and resize the rug so that it is facing the right way. 7. You will have to slide the shadow mesh group's map over so that it lays on a round shadow on the blob sheet instead of over a square one. I'm not 100% sure but I think the EA round rugs do not have mirror mapping. This will especially be true if you select the moon and stars rug...that one I know for sure does not have mirrored mapping. If you select one that does have mirrored mapping there is a tutorial in the tut section showing how to change the mapping so it isn't mirrored.

orangemittens You are the Morpheus of Sims 4 Studio! I will try tonight, not sure about the round shadow on the blob sheet instead of over a square one. I think I tried that and it got in the way...

If you could send a round mesh my way, I'd be grateful.

Mmmm i dont really understand what you need help with? Just go to blender and create a disk shape mesh, it should take you about 2-3 mins to do so. so where is the problem? The problem is me being really bad/noob at blender and not even knowing how to create any mesh, so far I only did use some tutorials and my own logic to figure out how to re-scale and select/delete stuff. I suck more than you thought I guess. Yeah, maybe I should really start to dig in the manual after all, after some thoughts, I'd never ask help like this at my own job ( senior tech support ) You made me realize I had not made my homework. Thanks for the wake-up call :P I found this in one second, pretty sure I'll be able to do something out of it. www.blender.org/manual/modeling/meshes/primitives.html* Edit * 5 minutes later, already created a basic cylinder from which I can work with. I can already see myself spending a lot of time on this manual from now on. Thanks everyone, I should be able to figure this out thanks to you all and the tutorial to replace a mesh is perfect for the next step. * Second Edit * Yeah, I'm on the right way, following all these tutorials brought me close enough to Rome. You can close this Thread Thanks everyone, a little motivation was all it took.
