When loading the game to test a recolour it won't load. This has happened the last couple of clothing recolours I've completed and I'm not sure what step is incorrect -
I place the item(s) I want to recolour in S4S mods Either create a standalone/ 3D mesh or swatches Export the texture Edit in Photoshop Flatten the image Save as a dds Import to S4S add swatch Go back to original file, hide the edited layer Add layer make the next modification Flatten image (which disregards the hidden layer Save as new dds
And repeat...
I can't really pinpoint how I fixed my Victorian dress as I ended up redoing it from scratch.
Is using one texture file, renaming it with a new dds filename, causing an issue?

This will be a silly question, but have you tried to put the final package in the EA SIMS 4 FOLDER?
*Documents\Electronic Arts\Los Sims 4\Mods
Because regarless that you have it in the S4S mod folder I don't think the program transfer the file by itself.

Yes! Everytime you save the progress in the S4S program it will save the package in the place you opened it, unless you save..as.. So for example, if you've finished a recolor, find the package that you just save and copy it to the EA SIMS 4 mod folder. Or in the S4S just save/as and choose that route.

Sorry, that wasn't a question, I'd added phone emoji's. This happens after I place my edited package file with the sims 4 mods folder, go to launch game and it the sticks when the plumb bob should spin, remove the file, and it loads normally.

Oh, so the problem is that the game won't load, I though you were saying that the object didn't show up.
I don't really knwo what could it be, are you using the latest S4S tool? Maybe somebody else could help you more. Im sorry :(

What item is it you're recoloring? Post your .package so someone can take a look at it.

mollyishere the same thing happened to me with Studio not opening, I had to use the .zip version of the program instead. For beckytheidlesim - the item that you are recoloring are you making sure the original mesh is also in your Sims 4/Mods folder as well if you are just recoloring. If you are creating a new mesh entirely, than the original mesh doesn't need to be in the sims4/mods folder. Also, how are you saving your swatch thumbnails? If you are making 32x32 dds swatches, make sure they're saved in dtx1 and not dtx5.

I've separated the other post into its own thread because it isn't on the same topic as the original post.
