Introduction
This tutorial will show you how to add a swatch to an existing EA wall so that your wall recolor shows up in the same catalog entry as the original.
What you will need
Sims 4 Studio
Instructions
1. Start to create your wall recolor as usual and when you get to the thumbnail list page hover over one of the wall thumbnails for the wall you want to add a swatch to. The wall's name will show up in a small box. Copy down the last characters of the number shown here...you don't need to include the 0's...just all the numbers after the 0's. After that clone the wall as usual and save the .package into your projects folder. Then return to the main (first) Studio screen.
2. Open the Fullbuild0 by clicking the My Projects button and navigating to it. The path is shown below after the Studio version number and name.
3. Once the Fullbuild0 is open type the characters you copied down in step 1 and click the Filter button.
4. Studio will filter using this number and one of the items on the list will be a Wall. Click on that line on the left side.
5. On the right side scroll down to the Prototype ID section and copy the Prototype ID as shown. You can copy it directly using Ctrl c or you can write it down if you wish. If you co py it down you only need to copy the last characters that follow the long string of 0's...you don't need to write down all the 0's.
6. Return to the front screen of Studio and open the wall you cloned for your project. Once the .package opens click the Warehouse tab.
7. Click the Wall resource line on the left and then scroll down to the Prototype ID section on the right and paste in the ID you copied in step 6. If you wrote down the characters instead of copying them you can just type in the characters that followed the long string of 0's because Studio will fill in all the leading 0's that you need automatically.
8. Return to the Studio tab and create your recolor as usual. If you want you can add more than one swatch. All swatches you add after the first one will have the same prototype ID so you will not need to return to the Warehouse and change them. In the game all the swatches in this .package will show up in the same catalog entry as the original EA wall.
One thing to note is that if you already have multiple swatches in your .package than you will need to change the prototypeID for each Wall resource in the .package.
