So I've been following ddeathflower's tutorials to clayify hair here and it looks perfectly fine in S4Studio and CAS but in game it's invisible from afar and only becomes visible up close. I tried changing the shader from simglass to simskin (or vice versa) but the only difference is that then the mesh is visible from afar but the texture isn't either. Someone tell me what I'm doing wrong please? Any help is much appreciated

Clayified hairs are really just retextures, you don't need to edit the mesh, should only create a standalone recolor.

That's what I did actually. I only tried changing the shader when that (->creating a standalone recolor) wouldn't show up right in game.

Hi stana, when you saved your image did you save as .dds? If so did you put a check mark in the generate mip maps box? Studio can accept images as a .png...if .dds is giving you trouble try saving as .png instead.

Hi stana, when you saved your image did you save as .dds? If so did you put a check mark in the generate mip maps box? Studio can accept images as a .png...if .dds is giving you trouble try saving as .png instead. Just a few seconds ago, after fiddling with this issue all day and asking about it in several boards, I found out that indeed my mistake was to not put a check mark in the generate midmaps box. Thanks to your tutorial actually. Couldn't you have been here a few hours earlier?? j/k I didn't know I had to generate midmaps because I'm an absolute beginner and it didn't say so in ddeathflower's tutorial. I'm going to send her a mail about that, maybe she includes it in her tutorial then. (this may sound offensive, it's only meant as info tho for the unlikely case someone else makes the same mistake) Thanks OM!
