Okay.....my computer has a bunch of installer/setup programs in my downloads folder.........do I actually need them or can I delete them? (I am thinking they might be making my computer slow). Also, concerning installing sims 4 studios, once installed, I can get rid of the installer?

Yes you can. I delete all the setup .exe files after I install them. Everything keeps working just fine.

If its a big installer or an important one, I stash them somewhere so I still have them and dont have to download them.

I know its good to do that but sometimes those become outdated and you still need to redownload. For moe anything in my download folder gets deleted or I store it in an external HD.

Yeah, Plug in HD or a Stick - It's amazing how much Memory Sticks have these Days, compared to just a few years back and Cheap!

I have a Lenovo laptop right now which I despise deeply, and it came with a poo tonne of download files and Lenovo mail stuff which I don't use at all. I am getting an iMac though as I find it unbearable to use anything but Apple products.

Lenovo is one of the worse ... Much better to get a strong Mac with an applecare and install a decent Windows to do whatever you need/want on it. Double fun !
