IntroductionThis entry is the beginning of documenting object effects. At the present time, effects cannot be edited directly but they can be added, modified, or deleted in many cases. The way an object with an effect is constructed varies from object to object, so what works for one object will not necessarily work for another. Herein, the various means by which effects are attached to objects are listed and what is known about each method is discussed. Additions to this entry will be made as time and knowledge permits. What you will needSims 4 Studio 2.7.0.2 (Jackpot) or above Documentation1. Effects referenced from the Cutout Info Table - an example is the Mister Jumpy Jump pool ladder from Get Together. These items may share tuning with other items, and the effect referenced from the Cutout Info Table is unrelated to their tuning. This type of reference can be found by going to the Warehouse, selecting the Cutout Info Table resource line, clicking the Edit Items button in the Entries section, and looking at the VFXHash line: To remove an effect like this put a 0 in the VFXHash field and click the Save button.

While making my fish tanks I had a long look at all the effects hoping I could exchange the bubbles fx for the basin water in a fountain, so the water would bubble and move on the tank surface like the little Koan fountain. But no matter how I tried to work out what to move or copy to achive this I couldn't see how it could be done. It seems like a simple thing but the bubbles are just named fx(model lod) additive and so on. The place I thought I would be able to change the shader or effect came to a stop. I am going to see what I can do with these effects on the objects they come with as I love water objects and would like to make something a bit different. If I discover anything I'll post here if it's ok? I have looked at the tuning tuts, but the tank has no object tuning in the warehouse. I'm still not sure what is making the plants in the EA tank move or the water. All the fxs listed seem to be connected to fish or bubbles or have all the numbers but are not seen by the game after cloning. I'll keep trying anyway. Thanks for the great tuts

Hi freeasabird, any findings on effects are welcome in this thread. It's a wide-open area for investigation.

Well (I'm not sure I should be posting this) I found out I can't make a fountain into a fish tank, probably due to my inexperience with tuning and effects I also realised that the effects are not 'pull-able ' yet. Not from lack of reading but from being in the zone and not taking in what I was reading I tried to add an extra bubble effect to a fish tank, but it didn't show. I suspect I didn't know how to name it? Most of what I fiddle with doesn't have the options your clear and more than helpful tuts show. Its me, I just want to run when I can't walk yet
