[SOLVED] Hi I'm trying to export a mesh from S4S to Blender, and in blender from blender to 3ds max using the .obj format. But, when I export it, I have a black mesh in 3ds max (also in Milkshape 3D) I tried to disable the "Include UVs" and it the mesh isn't black anymore, but the UV are missing... My normal settings for exporting as .obj : Do you know what settings can I use to export a mesh as an .obj format wihtout turning the mesh black ? Thanks in advance

I export from blender to max and back to blender using FBX. As long as there is a texture in max it will export with the texture. I use these settings in max, blender I have never changed a thing sims4studio.com/post/37

Thanks, but I already have those sttings in 3ds... What i want to do is to export a file from Blender with .obj and have a normal mesh and not a black mesh, do you know how can I ?

Hi Shimydim, these are the .obj export options I used to export meshes from a .blend to MS: These settings allow the mesh to be imported in MS looking solid white. If you want to save these settings for frequent use click the + sign that I've indicated below and name the settings configuration to something that makes sense to you. Then when you want to use that saved settings configuration you just click the dropdown to the left of the + sign and select your saved configuration:

Thanks, but I already have those sttings in 3ds... What i want to do is to export a file from Blender with .obj and have a normal mesh and not a black mesh, do you know how can I ? Ive always exported using FBX. Apparently its the "better" way but I dunno, its just always worked for me. Ive tried obj before (and just now again) it always goes stupid for me. I have the same default obj export options as you so the ones OM has may work.

If those options the other members gave you don't work, try to flip normals or recalculate normals. I had that problem when I started meshing and I could fix it like that.
