Hello! I'm trying meshing for the first time. In fact, frankenmeshing several parts of various hairs. I finished the mesh in blender, recalculated the normals in edit mode, imported it to the sims 4 studio (v. jackpot) and looked fine, everything was where it was supposed to be, no visible flaws no missing part, nothing. I even checked every colour, just in case, and they all looked fine. So I put the file in my mods folder to test it in game and it looked like this: link (I'm very sorry, I have no account with a hosting provider, so please bear with me). Well, I didn't expect it to go well for my first time, but I got really excited when I saw how good it looked on the Studio and then so dissapointed when I opened the game. Could someone give me a hint about where the problem is? Or maybe give me a hand? Thanks, thanks, thanks a lot in advance!

Hi minyare, it looks like there is possibly a combination of issues. If you post the .package someone can take a look and pinpoint the problems.

I'm uploading the .package and the .blend just in case it's easier to find the problem. I'm sure I left something undone that I should have done, the bad side of being a newbie to this... Also it has a lot of flaws, but it's the best I could do. If someone wants to tinker around with it, feel free to do it packageblendThanks!

Im going to take a look at this, but i think i may know the issue already. hold tight for a minute!
Yea, looks like your normals are flipped, im not sure if there is anything else wrong at this point but im going to flip them and go ingame to test. By the way its a very nice mesh.

Oh, maybe cause I mirrored the hair? I recalculated them, but I didn't know I had to flip them too. Thanks! You're so very nice! Fingers crossed

There is also one other possible issue here, and i think that maybe the package you were using may have become corrupt. i dont know how it mightave, but you can try creating a new package and reimporting your mesh and textures.

Thanks a lot for the help! Really, thanks for trying. Ok, so the issue is still there.
- I tried starting a new project, reimported the textures and the mesh. Same issue. - I tried redoing the mesh from scratch, exporting all the meshes and textures again to have them fresh and new, cause I noticed that when I opened it in blender the model was female but I was using it for male in S4S, and thought that it could be the problem. Again, no results. - I tried flipping the normals in blender and then the issue with the sim looking bald showed up in S4S as well. - The last thing I've done is reimporting the female mesh, flipping the hair and importing it to a male mesh, but just the base, without frankenmeshing nor adding anything else. And... the bald sim again.
So, the source of the problem is when I mirror the heir in blender. It fails when I flip the normals in blender. It shows right in S4S when I just recalculate them, but it doesn't show right in game. I'm getting quite down...
Also, I do nothing with the textures from the female base hair, I just import them as is, cause I tried mirroring them in photoshop and the result in S4S was terrible. Could that have something to do with it?

What version of the game are you running? The .package you posted above shows up fine in my game: In looking at this .package it does not look like a fresh clone of CC...it still has the original creator's thumbnails in the .package and Studio doesn't retain those when making a clone. You should clone the original as CC not make your edits to the original directly. If this original .package was made with a later game version than you have, it may or may not work in your game...EA never promises forward compatibility. You do have some flipped normals but that isn't what's causing the problem. The issue is in your game not in this .package. My bet is it's a version issue.

hmm, om is right if you are using a version of studio that is meant for a newer game version then it wont show up properly, i am having the same issues you are with it and my game is at 1.13.104.1010. I havent gotten a chance to update yet.

Thanks a lot to both for taking the time to check it! Just like you, I haven't had the time to update it (life keeps, getting in the way of my playing time...). I'd like to update it this weekend, when I'll have more free time, but we'll see.
Anyway, tbh I wasn't aware of creating the package over someone else's CC. I had a base game hair cloned in the folder, but I guess that at the moment of exporting the mesh I screwed up... Thanks for telling me! Should I take down the package I've uploaded here to be helped? I really feel bad about creating my own on top of another's one :'(
And that gap in the hair in the right side of your picture, could it be due to the flipped normals? Cause it's cloned from that straight woman hair that came with "Get together" and I didn't erase that part of hair. As I said, I just mirrored it but dd nothing with the texture. COuld it be that instead? Sorry for asking so much or if I'm being a bother, and thanks a lot for your time and patience :D

You guys were right. It was due to my game not being updated. I just updated it and when I opened the game the sim was not bald anymore. I still see that gap in the right side I mentioned in the previous message about your picture orangemittens and also many, many flaws. So I guess I'll try redoing it now that it shows in my game. Cheers!
