When I place the object in game it immediately disappears, but the game still deducts my simoleons. The object has a custom shadow, which has weird alpha problems. I cloned the object from a glass table included in the base game.

Hi! did you used a table because of the glass? You can use the deco typewritter instead. i'm not sure why it dissappears, but maybe it's related to the item you used as a base.
As for the shadow.. how did you exactly edit/do the shadow? mind sharing the .blend?

Here's the .blend. I replaced the table part with the car body, the table glass with the windows. I didn't replace the table shadow. The new shadow is attached to the body.

hi! That's not how shadows work. You have to go into edit mode, click L on any of the for square vertices of the shadow plane to select it. Press P and click "selection". It will separate the shadow plane into a new group. copy the name and cut number from original shadow mesh and delete the original.
As for the dissapearing issue, try what i suggested and use another item as a base.

If you delete the slots it will cause that to happen, to solve it just keep one of them (anyone I believe) and just move it to the center of the car somewhere.
If thats not your issue upload the .package not just the blend.

Alright. I used the typewrighter instead of the table; as you suggested, only this time I didn't touch anything in the slots as MisterS suggested. I separated the shadow from the car mesh and replaced the dropshadow, then I had to re-map the new shadow to maxis' common shadows. The result: A classic GT car worth 38 million simoleons! Well... Due to max simoleon limitation and the car being a decoration, there's a 90% price reduction! Place it in your art room and your imagination will burst with ideas!

Hi! I was looking for another thing in the forum and I saw this post. This happend to me some time ago and was very frustrating. I have another work around to fix this and works really good for me. When an object dissapeard its because you remove the slots as MisterS said so, to fix this open an object without any slots. Export the rig. Export the slot. Copy its Tunning and TunningId. Then go to your package and import the rig. Import the slot. Edit the Tunning and TunninId and save. Check on the game.
