Hello, I'm trying to create a new version of the Dine Out host podium. I've separated the computer from the rest of the podium and made it so that it can be placed on counters. I've tried this two ways: by replacing the cloned mesh of a retail register and telling it to act like a host station; and by replacing the mesh of a cloned host station and changing the slotting behaviour. Both work to an extent: they act as a host station and an NPC is called to the lot. The NPC interacts with the object. Interactions are available as usual. The issue is that customers cannot route to the object, I have the option to 'request table' but the Sim will wave their arms over their head and the interaction will fail. If I place the object on the floor, it will work. It is only if I place it on a counter that it fails. However, the host/hostess can always use it. So the issue is something to do with the customer routing, and it is only when the object is raised off the floor onto a surface. I'm stuck. Any advice?

Its got something to do with the counter interfering with the routing. ie the counter footprint interfering with the routing footprint, Ive had the same issue with a separated stove. I think from memory I had to make special counter just for the stovetop and use a rug footprint for it.

Yes, you were right. It's the counter that is causing the blockage. I tested this by using the MOO cheat to lift the host computer up off the floor and it was still usable. When I put a counter underneath it (not attached, the computer was 'floating') the counter blocked the interaction. The difficulty I have now is that I wanted it to work with all counters. So creating a custom counter isn't the right solution for me here. What is puzzling me is that the host/hostess can route to it perfectly, but the customer can't. So I'm wondering if there is some way to move the position the Sim will route to? So they are not trying to move into the counter space. edit: If I place it on a half-wall it has the same issue. And yet, if I place an official podium behind a half-wall the customer can use it just fine. This is a mystery!
