I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, but I seem to be having trouble loading CC into S4 Studio. I can make CC fine and it loads fine in game but when I go to look for the CC, it's simply not listed. I just want to recolor some hair I downloaded so I can have it maxis match and I was hoping Sims 4 Studio would be able to help me do that...

Erm... never mind. I just figured it out. I see that you just have to upload the project into your "My Projects" section. Excellent!

Oddy If you want to create something based on CC by somebody else, the proper way to do it is to place the desired CC in the Sims4Studio > Mods folder found in My Documents and then choose one of the Studio options as if you were using EA content as a base. The CC you placed in the Studio Mods folder should now show up as usable. They way you have done it by opening the file with My Projects basically means Studio thinks you are the original creator and unless you use "Save As", the changes you make will override the original. OM correct me if I am wrong. This is my current understanding.

I'm trying to make a recolor of some CC that is installed in my Mods folder but the only CC that shows up in S4 Studio is a dress by Anubis that I have recolored once before in a different S4 Studio version (I think it was Sugar). I've already tried reinstalling S4 Studio (Jackpot, of course, otherwise I wouldn't be posting here) but that doesn't seem to work. Seems like Marygreenman may have had the same issue?

I don't intend to upload anything that wasn't ENTIRELY mine (unless they're EA clothing recolors) so it shouldn't be too much of an issue. Maxis recolors are more for my personal use than anything else. I will try your way next though and see what happens. ^-^

So it will still override the original. The correct way to go is, as you said, placing the original package in Documents/Sims4Studio/Mods and then cloning the item as you would do with an EA one. Then you will create a unique clone that doesn't override and you can edit it as you want. If you don't want to include the mesh you can clone it as a standalone recolors, so it will require the original mesh to display your edit one.

I am seeing that the fix menaceman44 posted worked. You should be able to find the mods folder in Sims 4 Studio as well. If you're concerned about space on your computer, you can always just copy the specific project that you wish to use instead of the entirety of your clothing mods folder.

I had put the file in my Sims 4 Mods folder instead of the S4 Studio mods folder. Turns out that I had already put the Anubis dress in the S4 studio mods folder once so that explains why I was only able to see that one Thank you!
