I decided to try making a necklace for kids, and it seemed to be going well until the LOD 1-3 decided not to show up when i tried to import the meshes. I also tried testing the necklace in-game and it showed as the base game strawberry necklace that I used as a base. I made earrings awhile back and all went well. I'm pretty new to making CC, so I have a lot to learn, but I don't see what I could be doing wrong since it seems like the exact same thing I've been doing. Anyway, here's the link to it if anyone wants to take a look: Child necklace I zipped it with LOD's 0-3 as .blend files, and the .package I'm using S4S 2.7.0.5 (Jackpot) (I haven't worked on the texture at all, so it still looks like a lil' strawberry.)

It is often the case that accessories have a mesh group set up that causes this problem if you use the LOD 0 directly when replacing the lower LODs. The LOD 0 has more than one mesh group and the cut 0 mesh is a small box located inside the Sim's chest. The lower LODs have fewer mesh groups and the cut 0 mesh is the main mesh. If this is the case, and you directly import the LOD 0 to replace the lower LODs Studio replaces the main mesh in the lower LODs with that small box that is inside the Sim's chest. This gives the impression of nothing having changed but if you zoom in close you can see the small box inside the Sim in the model viewer. To fix it you need to change the cut number on the main mesh so that it is 0. Then Studio will know you want to replace the main mesh in the lower LODs with the main mesh in your LOD 0 .blend.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'cut'. Does it mean reduce the vertices, or what? Like, I reduced them for 1-3, but it's not doing anything. So I feel like that's not what it is. :-S

It took awhile for me to get to because I was busy yesterday, but I just tried following the LOD section of the tutorial and I don't think I quite get what I'm supposed to do. I've decimated the vertices count to what the original mesh is. Made sure the GEOM number was the same. I've fused vertices so that all four mesh parts are a single mesh. I feel a little stupid not being able to figure it out, when it seems like it should be simple. But I guess I've always had trouble reading instructions. :-s

Necklaces are not like the rest of accessories. Lod 0 of a necklace has two groups, one for the necklace per se and other for a little square that is hidden inside the body of the sim. Don't ask me why is that or what does that do.. i have no idea. So, the first lod0 should be 0000 for the group of the little square and 0001 for the necklace. You can check with any other necklace, just clone a random one and export all the lods and you'll see. necklace 1, 2 and 3 don't have a second group. only one. So those should all have 0000 on the cut. To make the lod0 just clone export the original lod0 from the necklace. Append your mesh, delete the necklace (leave the square) and change the cut numbers. Never delete the little square.
