I was shortening a mesh and when I got to the part where you close the bottom of the mesh it wouldn't close flat. Here's a picture explaining what I mean

This is either something wrong with the UV_1 or a weighting issue. Have you checked your weighting to make sure nothing is pulling that part down?

Part of the problem is a mesh issue. You raised the hem of the skirt without raising the center portion of the plane that forms the inside bottom part of the skirt. You need to grab those vertices and raise them a bit so they don't hang below hem: There's still a little clean up after that so that the item has all good textures and works perfectly with the sliders but doing that will get rid of the diaper effect:

The faint white lines on the legs are from the DST right?

Yes, it looks like the bump map (the preview that's all gray). You should export the image, and paint over the lines on photoshop. Don't forget to edit the alpha too.

Ok, that's what I thought. But before I edit that, is there a reason it looks like a bumpy mess?
