Hi! I want to deal with glass objects (for example, a glass coffee table). Is it possible to make the glass without distortion? If you look directly at the table, else fine. But if you look from the side, then see the strange triangular distortion. It is really correct?

Did you check the mesh to ensure there is no over lapping mesh for the original object? what about your UV Map?

Om...It's new mesh. UV-map I tried to work with the material. Glass group has the ability to "PhongAlpha" (as EA-object). I cheated on "GlassForObjectsTranslucent" - transparent table, but can not see objects that are underneath or behind this. "PhongGlass" result is the same as that of the PhongAlpha.

There are some strange issues with the new Lighting in the last Update before Dine out was released - Some say it was with the Dine Out release...whatever...Fact is, Strange Shadows with the new Lighting on Objects; Inside and Outside.
I mentioned this in a different thread, just an idea - Have you experimented with Vertex Painting the Object? That may Block the Light resource that is causing the wierd Shadow/s to show...just an idea, kind of like Vertex Painting an actual Light in OM's tut.
I have been using FULL BRIGHT...ha! Not sure how that would even work on Glass...maybe a half and half scheme with Translucent/Full Bright....no clue.

When I make stuff out of glass, it usually have a small amount of distortion like you have. I assumed that it was just how the game rendered glass. My computer isn't the newest either, and when I did it with small stuff it was much more un-noticeable. It was a lot like your table, but you couldn't really see it so much because of the shape and size. So it might just be that it is much more obvious with your table since, you know it is bigger. (or I could be wrong....)

I would really like to know about this issue, it happens to me when I attempt to create curtains at half transparency.

First MisterS say it all, post package please or we could not know for sure what the problem is. now for me it look like faces , you say u made new mesh, but you should know when u import a new mesh in to sims 4 studio, the studio make changes to it so it would fit the game, so try to import your mesh into studio, the export it from studio and open in 3d editor, now you get the mesh as the game gets it, and you can check to see everything is ok, check for faces UVs. also did you just made it alpha low, or you using a glass shader?

I don't know if they're going to respond, this thread is what 2 weeks old? Hopefully someone knows. However evil you said: 1. Import New mesh into Studio (studio then alters said mesh) 2. Export the same mesh you just imported back into Blender and check for any issues?

Studio will triangulate the mesh as eviltiptip said but I'm not sure that would cause this kind of appearance on its own. If someone who is getting this issue posts a .package like MisterS said then the problem could be investigated.

Unfortunately, I don't have any current projects with this issue. If I happen by it again, I will make sure to post about it.

I know it's been awhile since anyone looked at this post, but it seems Peacemaker-IC may have solved this issue per his post here [ View Original Tutorial]

That is very interesting Kiara. Never thought that problem was caused for smooting groups. . It is really tiring to make it manually but awesome the problem can be solved. I had run into some problems of this kind too. Thank you! Kiara
