Thanks to anyone who can help speed up this process of transition from Sims 3 to Sims 4 content creation for me.
Things I am going to do:
Animate using blender.
Inject interactions.
Where I am in ability:
I was very successful in animating using blender for Sims 3, so Sims 4 won't be a huge leap there especially in terms of actually animating.
I could also inject interactions pretty well in Sims 3. But, I gather Sims 4 uses python instead of C# so I am farther behind on the learning curve there.
Which, incidentally, is how I found Sims 4 Studio... well, that and a message from OrangeMittens sometime back informing me it was here.
So, the interaction injection, for now is a lesser priority because it will take more time, and anyway I can use studio to replace existing animations for the time being. That way I can get my feet wet.
A few question based on that logic:
Are Sims 4 rigs different from Sims 3 rigs?
Will existing Sims 3 animations i have already created in Blender work for Sims 4?
If the rigs are different, where do I find them?
Edited to include this question:
I see in the studio where the animation file name looks something like a2a_romantic_T_kiss_embrace_succeed_x.
The _T_ aspect is new (new to me, coming from Sims 3 to Sims 4)... in others I see _NT_ ... what do those parts of the file name denote specifically?
Also, can someone point me to the tutorials relevant to animation as well as python based interaction injection?
I would also like to see, if at all possible, examples of the python code for a two-person social interaction for Sims 4. If there exists some of those already present on the forums, that'd rock.
Last in regards to coding, does anybody know if Xamarin will work for python? I have no idea, but if it does and there is a tutorial for that as well, then a link to it would also be very good to have.
I have Sims 4 studio already enabled on my PC and am beginning to toy with that, so I don't need to start from the very beginning...
Any help getting to the specific tutorials and resources would be GREATLY appreciated.
I know I am asking for a lot, all of a sudden like, but once I get some of this info, I will be able to hunker down for awhile and trial and error my way towards some success.
Thank you, everyone who read this... and thank you double to anybody that can help!
It's all appreciated.
Be well! ~Clang (Chimney) out!
