Hi! I have been looking around for some answers but can't seem to find anything specifically for my problem, so I apologize if I'm being stupid and the answer is right in front of my face... I'm still a total noob at this, so please be gentle My question: Is there a way to create a new texture for a new/edited mesh? I know how to 1) edit/create a mesh and 2) recolor an existing texture, but I want to be able to create and color a texture that matches the new mesh. When I import my new mesh in Sims 4 Studio, it still has the texture for the original mesh. I just can't figure out how so many of these creators are making new meshes with their own designs and colors that match it. I hope this makes sense. Thank you so much!

I'm using Blender to create a CAS item (shirt). I'm not too familiar with UV unwrapping, so I will definitely check out that tutorial. Thanks!

jessimadoo check this very detailed tutorial. It covers creating new clothes mesh, unwrapping UV and also drawing new texture. Also in order to make the mesh moving with sliders you need to edit second UV map. It looks different from regular UV map and was created specifically for making the mesh work for different shapes of the body ( this and this tutorial). Regarding texturing item with your own textures. You can bake the texture in blender and create an image of the folds which can be used for overlaying main texture in Photoshop or other editor instead of drawing folds. But this is the last step.

Hi, Once you have created your mesh, have you exported the UV map to use it in paint.net to make your original textures? Because this is really helpful and what I use to make accurate textures. If you have not done this and would like me to explain more, I can help you with that if you wish or I can link a pre-made tutorial for you if you do not understand the one that Feyona gave you above. Also, don't worry about asking questions- this is what the Creator Help section is for! When I started not too long ago, I was asking questions left, right and center. Please don't hesitate to ask creators who have experience for help c:

Hey Beauman, So you want to create a texture for new paintings? So, let me see what I understand about this problem from what you have said:
You want to create a texture for a new picture that you made. I am guessing that you need to make a new texture as you have either made your new mesh from scratch or totally edited the shape. I can tell you that you are able to create a new texture for paintings using the UV map. Here are the instructions:
1) Once you have created your mesh, the first thing you want to do to get your full UV map is join all the mesh groups by pressing Ctrl + J once you have highlighted the mesh groups (in this case, all of them) that you want to join. You can always undo this by pressing Ctrl + Z once you have retrieved your UV map.
2) Press A to select the whole thing in the preview tab. You now need to go to the left side of Blender where you can see the UV map.
3) This is the part where I might get things a little wrong as I have not worked with items just yet (I have made many pieces of clothing, so please forgive me if some of my instructions may be a bit hazy at this point- also, I do not have access to Blender at the moment, so I cannot look at references for you :C ). So, you want to have the whole UV map selected (you will know that you have selected it when it's completely orange). Click the 'export' button and save your UV map somewhere safe (I usually save them onto my desktop
4) Now, open paint.net/Photoshop (I will be telling you how to do this via Paint.net as it already has a way you can save DDS files whereas Photoshop needs a plug-in).
5) Open up the UV map that you exported. This should be a template for you to create your new picture frame mesh.
(If you need more help on this topic as I am not very experiences, I will link to the tutorial page in the post below).
