I have been playing around with the studio for a bit now and I wanted to play with the gloves and socks to make my spider morph (which the black gloves and tights can cover) But I wanted to add to the texture or what ever it is. Would I have to start from scratch or is there a way? Hopefully this makes sense or something.. Trying to accomplish this..

Hello welcome to s4s forums. if you want to only change texture of glove u can just open s4s, go to recolor , pick up a glove and change the texture. if you want to change the mesh you have to go to create 3d mesh, now i dont think gloves have a mesh, so best for you is to pick some ring or something go on arms, remove it and edit the arms mesh as you like then texture it.

Hi! Like Eviltitip said, the mesh is the general shape of the outfit and the texture is the different 2D part that makes up the patterns, shapes, etc.
(I'm not sure what your CC experience is like, but just in case I'll list some programmes that I use and their uses)
. Sims 4 (obviously, to get the base-game meshes) . Blender (if you are simply recolouring/changing the texture, you don't need this- blender is only for changing the mesh) . Paint.net (this is to create your custom texture/change it to Direct Draw Surface - DDS - so that it can be imported as a texture.
If you need to ask any more questions, I'm sure a lot of members of the community will be able to assist you c:

Also, I would suggest exporting multiple textures from base-game items, such as gloves and those legging thingies. Keep in mind, however, there is no base-game mesh for that spider body (I'm guessing that's what it is), so you would have to make that part of the mesh from scratch. With the gloves, if you want them to be flush to the skin, all you need to do is to export the texture of the gloves and then put the texture onto the nude top mesh. However, if you want to make it come slightly off the skin, you will need a mesh for that. If that doesn't make sense, you can ask me more questions (I'm in a rush right now so I can't explain in too much detail C:)
