I know this might be a stupid question, but can i make a chair thats smaller in height and make a sim sit properly, not in the air?

I faintly recall having seen zaisu (legless chair) for a Japanese styled environment somewhere, though it might have been for sims3 - I am not entirely certain. It would however result in the sim's legs clipping through the floor. For a proper new type of chair with a new sitting height you would probably have to define a new type of object via tuning and add new animations (for sitting down, standing up and possible idles) for your new chair. What are you trying to create? Edit: Found it! It was for the Sims4 afterall - take a look.

hi!, i suggest you finishing the mesh and having it.. literally 90% done to know exactly where your sim has to be. Clone a base game chair, import your mesh, head over the slots tab and you'll see all the parts of the bones that need to be moved down. Butt, legs and feet. both child and adult. Just move all of them down accordingly. The butt should be move much lower than the leg. it depends of the chair you want to make. And you might need to go in game and take note of what you need to keep fixing. But anyway, just decrease the Z of all those bones.

You just need to move the butt down, the feet are already on the floor. I dunno how far you can move it without it looking stupid when the sit, Ive only ever moved it a tad when Ive made a couch a bit different form the original.
