I thought I'd give converting from TS3 to TS4 a try and convert a hair I did for TS3 for use in Sims 4 after receiving no bites on my modding request thread. Anyway, to do it, I used this TUTORIAL to go about doing it, though I did have to figure some things out along the way. Long story short, I was able to get into my game...with a minor hiccup: Heh, while I'm feeling pretty good that I was able to finally get it in there (it looks ALOT better than my first attempt, lol) as you can see, it needs a little straightening out. I suspect it might be a UV issue, judging by how the skin tone is on the actual hair. But I don't know for sure, which is why I'm here. If anyone can help me out, please be sure to do it in absolute beginner talk, lol, preferably with pictures. Thanks!

This is because you need to change the Shader to Simglass. Go to Studio tools and check the option about changing the shaders to simglass. This will allow the hair to work with alphas.

OK, thank you. I'll try that out. ETA: OK, some good news to report. It looks much better now. However, now I'm wondering why I can see through his head (most notable at the top) Ideas?

Hello, we both have the same problem. I've been working on hair conversion (S3 to S4) recently. The problem is about transparency but I can't do anything about it yet. If you have some groups (in 3d editor) you can sort them to get them in right order (it should solve transparency issues). Check it out there. Unfortunately my conversion has only one group so I can't sort it. Any other ideas?

That is probably happening due to the glass shader. When you use that shader the game becomes sensitive to render layers and if yours aren't in correct order this effect will show up. Laracroftfan1 wrote a tutorial going over render layering for glass shader hair and posted it in the CAS/Pose tutorial section of the forum.
