Hi, I have a weird problem with some new meshes. If anyone can take a look and tell me what I'm missing I'd be very grateful. It's for a plant set with pots and plants separately. The pots have slots for the plants, and it works fine when I place a pot on the floor and add a plant on top. However, it won't work on a table/shelf/etc. The pot OR plant places fine, I just can't place the plant on the pot itsef. If I cheat and assemble the pot and plant on the floor and move it to the table it works fine until I close the game and open it again - at that time the plant will have deleted itself. Maybe it's something with stacking or maximum height? Download below the image. As you can see the plant won't even recognize the slots on the pots unless they're on the floor. Download: (dropbox) plantpot

unfortunately that's how slots work. you have to place it on the floor, use the slot, and place where you need it to be. that's how all the items behave in my game too. I think it's just how the coding works. I'm not sure.

I think it's just how the coding works. I'm not sure. Yeah, I discovered the same thing too; I made some items over the weekend that have slots (baskets, a lamp with slots) and you have to put the item on the floor first, then use bb.moveobjects on to move it to the table. I just think that's the way the game works, like you can't have multiple slots occupying one slot, if that makes sense. It's the same for custom tablecloths, etc.

That's not how things usually go in my game though? I have downloads that stack even if they're on tables, for example a pile of magazines I can place an item on top of it on its slot even if it's on a table. Same with a few deco pots and plants that work the same way I'm making mine, and they assemble just fine on a table, no cheats needed.

It also seems to have something to do with the slots height. I do have some slotted items which I can decorate just fine, while others have to be decorated on the floor and moved afterwards. OrangeMittens gave me some very insightful help concerning this in the slot editor tutorial. Try moving your plant-slot up a little and see if it does the trick. I do not have any good idea concerning the disappearance of the plant though, I haven't encountered this behaviour before in any of the objects I placed with bb.moveobjects.

ohmykomu I just gave your pot and plant a try and I could place it in the pot on a table without any cheats. The only trouble I encountered when trying to pot the lettuce on a diningtable was, that it much rather snapped to any other slot but the one in the pot (thanks to the zillion of diningtable slots I assume) - on the accent tables it worked nicely though.
