Hi, firstly I wanted to thank you for this tutorial and for the awesome program! I followed the tutorial.. but I encountered a.. bug? Probably it's me that I did something wrong, anyhow I noticed that when I make a floor, the name/description field in the catalog tab.. it doesn't work. In the game it always says "debug", and I think it only assignes the name to the english language, but the other languages remain empty. Is there a fix for this? I mean, other than going to the warehouse tab and manually inserting the entries in all the String Tables? Or is there a way to find out which string table is for which language? I'm not interested in making the name visible in all languages, just mine :P
P.s. I just noticed that it is possible to export the binary file of the string table... if I export the one with the names, can I import it in the other string tables? Or they will override/conflict?

Hi akuiyumi, that sounds like a bug. It will be fixed hopefully in the next beta version. You can export the string table to binary and re-import them over the others yes. Thank you for reporting this

Thank you for reporting this Thank you for your quick reply ^^ I'm afraid I found another problem ç___ç I tried to import/export the string (it exports the binary file). When I import it, nothing changes. Am I doing something wrong? I think the buttons are pretty much self explanatory... maybe the program doesn't like me so much XD

akuiyumi, if you're using Sims 4 Studio (Joy) you will need to rename the binary when you export it and import the renamed binary into the .package in order for Studio to register that you're importing a new binary and want it saved.

my Thumbnail does not show my floor. I have 2.4.0.9 love Can you be more specific? Are you talking about a custom thumbnail or a catalog thumbnail? And doesn't it show in-game or in Studio?

I tried making a floor and despite checking everything three or four times it still doesn't show up in my game. I am using the joy version of the tool. Do I have to export a floor or can I just create it the same way as making a new wall?
EDIT I got it to work by exporting an existing floor.

You will need to clone an EA floor to make your recolor of it. I'm glad you got it working

I have a question - is there any way to make a 1x1 tile? I've been searching Google for a couple of hours now, and I can't get an answer. I want to make a single tile walkway with yellow lines on each side. Unfortunately, no matter which flooring I clone, it will not show both lines unless I select a 4x4 section of the floor. Is there any detail on choosing whether it's 4x4 or 1x1?

You can change the tiling in the Material Definition/Materials by changing the diffuse UV scale numbers. If you go to that you will see two fields [0] and [1] that determine the scaling. I experimented with them and they do change the tiling: The grey one is EA's default settings and the other two are edited. Unfortunately, for some reason, the game doesn't seem to like it if you go above 1 and dark lines begin forming between the sections when you zoom out. For your purposes though it sounds like you want the tile you put in to cover a whole section so you'd want to make your number smaller than usual. .25 might work and it appears fine in the game too.
